Travel to Athens
On arriving to Athens via airport, you will be able to take a taxi or bus to the destination you require. Taxis are metered but you usually expected to pay extra if you have a lot of luggage with you. Although run by the meter, Taxis are generally an inexpensive way of traveling in and around Athens; you may however find it difficult to find one during rush hours as it can become extremely busy. It is important to make sure that the taxi is meters, as many taxi drivers have been known to over charge tourists. Although officially forbidden, it is not uncommon to find that the taxi you have flagged down has a customer in it already. In this case, you would still be expected to pay the full taxi fare as if you were traveling alone.
